The warehouse is a state-of-the-art and automated distribution center of just over 23,000 sqm with the possibility of expansion. The warehouse is built around an AutoStore solution delivered by Element Logic and the WMS system Manhattan SCALE delivered by IDnet. With its new warehouse, NA-KD is able to continue to deliver on its strong sales growth and improve its lead times to all Nordic customers. Empir Industry&#8217;s new concept Hosted Infrastructure for Logistics Automation (HILA) is the basis for the deal.<br>NA-KD initially invested in an AutoStore solution with over 100,000 bins and 100 robots which later was expanded with 21 additional robots. The solution is from start adapted to deliver over 1,000 orders per hour and is prepared to expand over time. The implementation is one of the larger AutoStore solutions in Europe. The warehouse was scheduled to go live in Aug 2020 and was successful. The seasonal peak for fashion giant NA-KD is Black Week which occurs end of Nov. Empir Industry tuned, optimized and scaled up the environment based on systems and monitoring data in order for the warehouse to cope with the huge order flow volumes. The warehouse and its systems landscape were able to handle 5.4 orders per second around Black Friday which brings the automation to top in the Nordics. This without any production downtime or warehouse disruption.<br><br>NA-KD awarded the IT company Empir Industry to design and deliver all IT infrastructure in terms of networks, server and security platforms, PDAs, scanners, printers, computers, conference room equipment and most software services for highly efficient warehouse operation. Empir Industry is also responsible for all operation and support of the IT infrastructure, initially on a 16&#215;6 basis yet prepared long term for 24&#215;7. The services are designed through its concept &#8211; TRUE Availability, especially developed for logistics customers with requirements for efficient, scalable and automated IT.<br><br>&#8220;- From basically only having a building plot, we will have a fully functioning business in 7 months. In a very short time, Empir Industry has implemented a functioning IT infrastructure with hardware, software and support.
