This delivery takes place approximately four hours in advance, so careful planning is crucial to ensure timely and accurate execution. The rate is about 54 dashboards per hour over two shifts. There are numerous variations in the details to be manufactured, making the process extremely complex.

In the Låssby factory in Hisingen, IAC Group has a complete facility for manufacturing dashboards. The dashboards are being delivered in sequence to the nearby Volvo Cars factory, among other destinations.

This delivery needs to be planned meticulously, considering the four-hour advance notice. The rate is about 54 dashboards per hour over two shifts. There are numerous variations in the details to be manufactured, making the process extremely complex.

Through Empir’s TRUE MES platform, you have complete control over all recipe parameters that are communicated with injection molding machines and processing machines, while operators receive digital instructions.
Each process step is quality assured and traceability data is collected from all critical stages, for example, process data relating to weakening of the airbag panel. It is also important that the system prevents driving in a station if previous process steps are not approved.

– By using Empir’s TRUE MES platform, we have increased efficiency and shortened the training time for operators and at the same time reduced the number of errors and increased the quality of the product, says Magnus Benjaminsson – Technical Preparation.

Since 2015, Empir Industry has had an MES platform that has been maintained and gradually expanded as the factory’s needs have grown to a large extent. Today, the TRUE MES platform drives a large part of manufacturing by communicating in real time with operators, machines, business systems, and other important adjacent systems.
